Day 10: Rocky Mountain, high and higher!
Yesterday was a incredible experience. Riding amongst the Rocky Mountains was so thrilling. Not only were the roads and curves perfect for riding, but the scenery was beyond compare. I’ll share some photos and several videos that I took of my ride to the Rocky Mountain national park via Peak to Peak scenic byway.
The temperature difference during the day was also significant as it started off in the 50s and I had to be all bundled up. Later in day in reached 80 but in the upper altitudes, back down to the 50s.
I’ll post another update of the day later on but I just wanted to share some of the photos and videos before I move on with my day. I’ll be heading out to the other side of Colorado Glenwood springs for a two night stay. I might do a little side trip on the way over Loveland Pass. We shall see. Enjoy the photos and videos! Day 10 logged 260 miles bringing my total to 2596 miles.
This was the route to Rocky Mountain national park. I actually went up and back down after visiting the park for a few hours.
View along Peak to Peak.
It gets a little warm on the bike. This is when I was waiting to get into the national park. Note the humidity is so dry up here.
Highest point on the road, 12,700 feet.
