Day 1 Recap (368 miles)

I made it to the first stop finally after some rain and mayhem! Short post today, will add more later.

Challenging day with the rain but it does make you appreciate the GOOD weather! My overall impressions were the kindness of strangers! While waiting out a big storm earlier, I noticed two young women trying to get air for their tires. I didn’t want to get wet but felt compelled to help. I sorted them out and they were very appreciative. Later in the day, I was dealing with an incident strangers just helped me without hesitation. Restored my faith in the people of this country! It’s not because I helped someone else but it felt very cool!

Mainly highway driving today but tomorrow, Saturday, is the Back of the Dragon! 32 miles straight north and LOTS of turns. (The best kind of riding!) Plan to do north and then back down then off to Blowing Rock, NC, Blue Ridge Parkway ride on Sunday! I’ll have more photos tomorrow!
