Day 6: Gateway to the West
After a rainy morning waiting patiently at my hotel, I finally got on the road about 1 o’clock in the afternoon. I didn’t plan on it but I got to St. Louis arriving 7:30 PM. It was a good highway “cruise”ride. I saw the grand old Opry from the the highway in Nashville. America seems to open up as you travel west. My tactical plan was to drive as far as I could while the roads were dry since the forecast tomorrow calls for rain early in the morning, so I’ll be getting a slightly later start. It’s all about the weather. I logged 341 miles today from Lebanon, TN to St. Louis. It was felt so good to cross over the Mississippi River. It’s the dividing line between east and west USA, more pertinent in the past, but still a significant geographical boundry. I don’t have many photos, but I’ll post what I have.
Feel free to use the email response for any feedback and comments you wish to share with me. I’m at 1400 miles so far.
The reason for my late start.
Focused in the road.
Happy to have arrived in St. Louis.
